As Australia's rental crisis drags on, new data from MCG Quantity Surveyors' has revealed the postcodes with the lowest rental listings in December.
"In areas like Greater Sydney and Regional NSW, we're seeing a significant crunch in available rentals, putting immense pressure on renters," said Mike Mortlock, Managing Director of MCG Quantity Surveyors.
"Regions like Greater Melbourne and Greater Brisbane, which traditionally have robust rental markets, are showing an alarming decrease in rental listings."
Here are the suburbs where it's hardest to find an available rental property.
The Sutherland area stood out for its rental scarcity.
The suburb of Oyster Bay, located about 26km south of Sydney's CBD, had only one rental listed in December.
This is despite having 101 private rentals situated within the area.
Mount Vernon is situated halfway between Penrith and Liverpool in Western Sydney.
The suburb advertised just two out of its 115 listed rental properties for lease in December.
Located in the Clarence Valley on the NSW Coast, Iluka had only one rental listed in Decemeber.
The regional town, which means "near the sea", has 115 rental properties all up.
In Victoria, places like the Yarra Ranges are experiencing significant shortages.
The suburb of Upwey, located about 33 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD, had just one out of 147 rentals available for lease.
Another Yarra Ranges suburb that made the top 10 hardest places to rent in Melbourne was Selville East.
For December, the suburb had only three out 245 rentals up for grabs.
Moorabol in Geelong had only one property advertised for rent last month.
The regional Victorian town currently has 102 rental properties within its postcode.
Brisbane areas such as the Ipswich Hinterland are also facing tough times.
Frenches Creek, about an hour's drive from the capital, had just one out of 208 rentals available to let.
Cornubia in Loganlea made Queensland's top five hardest places to rent.
Despite 205 rentals recorded in the area, only three were listed for rent last month.
In regional Queensland, Rockhampton had the fewest vacancies.
Only 1 out of 131 rentals available in the suburb of Mount Morgan became available last month.
Rental shortages have also extended to South Australia.
Christie Downs in Onkaparinga - one of Adelaide's fastest growing areas - had only two vacancies out of 288 rentals in the region.
Nearby McLaren Vale also made Adelaide's top five hardest suburbs to rent in.
The acclaimed wine region had only three out of 193 rentals available to lease.
On the Eyre Peninsula in regional SA, Whyalla Jenkins had only one advertised rental in December.
This is despite having 189 rentals in the area.
Risdon Vale in the City of Clarence is an outer suburb of Hobart.
The region had just three out of 129 rental properties available to lease.
Sorell came in as Tasmania's fourth hardest suburb to rent in.
Located just 25 kilometres from Hobart, the suburb had only six out of 197 rentals up for grabs.
Beaconsfield in the heart of the Tamar Valley has about 138 rentals in the area.
But the mining town only advertised one for lease in December.
The rental market in Western Australia is also tightening.
Singleton in Rockingham was one of the hardest places to rent in last month.
The town had just three out of 185 rentals advertised to let.
In Joondalup, the suburb of Kingsley had just eight out of 533 properties available for rent.
The suburb of Beelerup in Manjimup had the scarcest rental supply in regional Western Australia.
Out of 103 rentals, there was only one property advertised.
In the Northern Territory, the rental market got tighter and tighter in the suburbs further out from Darwin.
In the Litchfield suburb of Coolalinga, there were only three properties advertised out of 126 in the area.
The town of Flynn in Alice Springs had just four rentals available out of 136 last month.
