A member of the Parliament House cleaning staff has retired after working in the building for 35 years.
Luzia Borges has worked for every prime minister since Bob Hawke, who was leader between 1983 to 1991, meaning she has served nine of the country's top leaders.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese thanked Borges for her service in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"She's a hard worker, an absolute joy, respected and admired by all," Albanese said.
"And when she retires next week, she'll be sorely missed.
"Thank you Luzia."
Treasurer Jim Chalmers also thanked Borges for her service.
The last day of sitting for the lower house is December 7.
