A gym formerly belonging to far-right commentator Avi Yemini has been set alight in Melbourne's south-east.
Firefighters were called to the suspicious fire on Hawthorn Road in Caulfield North, just after 5am today where they found the gym fully ablaze.
The fire was so intense it threatened nearby buildings, forcing the evacuation of dozens of residents and a restaurant nearby.
Crews managed to contain the fire to two storeys of the building.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) said 31 people from a nearby residential property and restaurant had to be evacuated.
It took firefighters almost two hours to control the blaze using what FRV labelled an "aggressive attack".
This morning, Rebel News commentator Yemini confirmed he had previously owned the gym, now known as Bayside Health and Fitness.
Police confirmed they were treating the fire as suspicious.
The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined.
