A teenager has been taken down by police while knee-deep in water after he allegedly robbed a chemist on the Gold Coast.
Riley McLarnon, 19, is accused of holding up a chemist before fleeing with a bag full of medication to a Surfers Paradise Beach on November 29.
There, the teen allegedly ran into the surf before ditching the bag of stolen drugs.
Police allege the 19-year-old, from Upper Coomera, was armed with a homemade weapon when he threatened staff at a Surfers Paradise chemist and demanded medication from behind the counter.
He has been charged with one count of armed robbery.
He was denied bail today and will front court early next year.
Police are attempting to identify a second accomplice.
